Look, we've all been there, in an aunt's living room, looking through photo albums or even slides of their most recent vacation. I recognize how painful that is, and that's what I desperately want to avoid.

But I had one of the most incredible high school football experiences of my life last week, and I figured that's worth sharing, even if it borders on your mom's Facebook album.

Last week, my wife and I packed up our car and took off across Texas. A Texas road trip, with two big destinations in mind — Big Bend national and state parks, and Fredericksburg. Without further ado, enjoy the photos from my trek across Texas (mouse over the photos for descriptions). And if you have the chance, by all means, explore the state. Texas high school football is intoxicating, and there's nothing to get you ready for the season quite like seeing what the sport is really all about, in small towns and big cities across the Lone Star State.
